Statement as of 1:41 PM CST on November 20, 2008 ... Red flag warning in effect from 12 PM EST /11 am CST/ to 5 PM EST /4 PM CST/ Friday... ... Fire Weather Watch in effect Saturday afternoon... The National Weather Service in Tallahassee has issued a red flag warning... which is in effect from 12 PM EST /11 am CST/ to 5 PM EST /4 PM CST/ Friday due to a combination of expected long durations of low relative humidity at or below 25 percent and strong surface winds frequently gusting between 20 and 25 mph. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued for Saturday afternoon due to anticipated long durations of relative humidity at or below 25 percent. A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of strong winds will greatly enhance fire growth potential. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
